Made By Military takes pride in being a distinct marketplace where buyers enthusiastically search for one-of-a-kind creations crafted by military personnel, offering their support through purchases. To preserve this unique identity, all items listed for sale on Made By Military must fit within one of the following categories: digital, resale, remote or online services, handmade, vintage, arts and crafts, or wholesale resale.

 

Digital Items: These are digital products, such as downloadable files or digital artwork, designed to be delivered electronically.

 

Resale Items: These are pre-owned or secondhand items in good condition, ready for a new home.

 

Wholesale Resale: These are items bought in bulk and resold in smaller quantities. Sellers should clearly state if their items fall into this category and provide transparent information about the source and condition of these wholesale items.

 

Remote or Online Services: These are services provided online or remotely, ranging from bookkeeping, consulting and coaching to creative services like logo design, website design, virtual assistant, social media manager, ect..

 

Handmade Items: These are products crafted or designed by you, the seller. In the case of collaboration with a production partner, clear disclosure of their involvement in your relevant listings is required. Additionally, transparently describe the roles of all contributors to an item's creation in your shop's About section. Utilize only your own photos or videos, avoiding stock images, artistic renderings, or images used by other sellers or websites.

 

Vintage Items: These are items that are at least 20 years old, showcasing unique character and history.

 

Arts and Crafts: These include a wide array of handmade creations and supplies for crafting and special occasions, emphasizing creativity and artisanal craftsmanship.

 

Our goal is to provide a platform where military members can thrive by showcasing their unique talents and products while ensuring a diverse and exceptional shopping experience for our buyers.

What is not allowed to be sold on Made By Military?


On Made By Military, specific items, services, and items that violate our intellectual property policies are prohibited from being sold, regardless of whether they meet our marketplace criteria. All listings must be for the sale of an item or service, including digital items. Creating listings for activities such as sharing referral codes or posting want ads that do not involve the sale of physical or digital items or services is not allowed.

 

What it means to be a vendor on Made By Military and our expectations.

 

When operating your Made By Military shop, ensure honest and accurate representation: Provide truthful information in your About section and to Made By Military. Adhere to your Shop Policies. Comply with Made By Military’s policies, including the Anti-Discrimination Policy, in all shop content. Accurately depict your items in listings and listing photos. Respect intellectual property; report violations to Made By Military. Avoid fee evasion. Do not create duplicate shops or manipulate engagement for unfair advantage. Refrain from coordinating pricing with other sellers. 

 

Seller Standards For products listed on Made By Military, comply with relevant laws and regulations, including labeling and warnings Made By Military is not responsible for listing accuracy or content. 

 

Meeting Service Level Standards: 

As a Vendor on Made By Military,  you are to ship products promptly, considering legal requirements in different countries. Respond promptly to messages. Uphold shop and vendor policy commitments. Resolve disputes with buyers directly. Notify buyers and cancel orders if unable to complete them.

By using the Made By Military website, we expect you to treat fellow buyers and sellers with respect. As a seller, your responsibilities include safeguarding personal information and ensuring prompt communication with buyers for a stellar customer experience.

 

Content Creation and Upload

 

As a Made By Military vendor, you can create and upload various content types such as listings, Messages, text, photos, and videos. To maintain a safe and respectful community, you agree not to upload content that:

 

  • Contains hateful, derogatory, or discriminatory language or imagery, in line with our Anti-Discrimination and Hate Speech Policy.
  • Includes threats, harassment, extortion, or breaches our interference rules.
  • Infringes upon someone else's intellectual property rights.
  • Contains false, deceptive, or misleading information.
  • Involves unsolicited ads, promotions, donation requests, or spam.
  • Shares private information, whether it's yours or others'.
  • Encourages transactions bypassing the Made By Military checkout process.
  • Contains prohibited medical drug claims.
  • Violates rules outlined in our Prohibited Items Policy.

Privacy and Protection of Personal Information

 

As a vendor of the Made By Military community, you have a responsibility to safeguard the personal information of fellow members in accordance with relevant legal requirements. This includes compliance with data protection and privacy laws that govern your use of user information within Made By Military. You may be required to establish and adhere to your own privacy policy, accessible to Made By Military users you engage with. Your privacy policy must align with both this policy and Made By Military's Terms of Use, as well as Made By Military's Privacy Policy.

 

When you use our services for selling (subject to this Policy), you may receive and decide how to handle specific personal information, such as communication with users and transactions with buyers. This implies that you process personal information (e.g., buyer name, email address, and shipping address), and under EU law, you act as an independent data controller for data related to other users obtained through the services. If you process user personal information outside of the services, you may be obliged to comply with requests from such users for data access, portability, correction, deletion, and objections to processing, in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws.

 

Additionally, you are responsible for any unauthorized disclosure of personal information, including those made inadvertently or as a result of data breaches. For instance, if you acquire a buyer's email address or other information through a transaction, you can only use it for Made By Military-related communications or facilitated transactions. It is not permitted to use this information for unsolicited commercial messages or unauthorized transactions. Without the buyer's consent, and subject to applicable Made By Military policies and laws, you cannot add a Made By Military member to your email or physical mailing list, use the buyer's identity for marketing purposes, or collect or store any payment information. You must always be aware of the required level of consent in each situation.

 

In cases where Made By Military and you are jointly responsible for personal information, and if Made By Military faces legal action, fines, or expenses due to your actions as a joint data controller for buyer personal information, you agree to indemnify, defend, and protect Made By Military (as well as its employees, agents, consultants, subsidiaries, partners, affiliates, and licensors) from any claims, costs, losses, damages, liabilities, judgments, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) related to your processing of buyer personal information.

Communication Standards for Made By Military

 

 Using our Messaging system

 

Using Made By Military's messaging system, you can directly communicate with buyers or fellow Made By Military members. Messages serve as a tool for buyers to inquire about items or orders.

 

Messages should not be used for the following purposes:

 

  • Sending unsolicited ads, promotions, donation requests, or spam.
  • Harassing, abusing, or violating our Anti-Discrimination Policy.
  • Contacting someone after they have explicitly requested no contact.
  • Interfering with a transaction or another member's business.
  • Exchanging personal contact, financial, or other information to bypass the Made By Military checkout process, including phone numbers, addresses, emails, social media handles, external URLs, money transfer instructions, etc.

 

Interference

 

Interference refers to intentional actions that disrupt another vendor's shop and business, and it is strictly prohibited on Made By Military. Examples of interference include:

 

  • Messaging another vendor to discourage them from a specific vendor, shop, or item.
  • Publicly discussing or demonstrating disputes with another member.
  • Purchasing from a seller solely to leave a negative review.
  • Maliciously clicking on a competitor's ads to deplete their advertising budget (known as "click fraud").
  • Creating or using an independent buyer account to artificially boost negative reviews for another shop.

Harassment and Discrimination

 

The use of Messages for harassing other members is strictly prohibited. Messages should not be used to promote or glorify hatred or violate our Anti-Discrimination Policy. If you encounter a Message that violates this policy, please report it promptly.

 

Communicating Cancellations

 

If you cannot complete a transaction, notify the buyer through Messages and cancel the transaction. If the buyer has already paid, issue a full refund. It's advisable to retain proof of refunds in case of disputes. All cancellations are subject to our Cancellation Policy.

 

Feedback, Cases, and Your Success

 

Reviews play a crucial role in establishing your reputation on Made By Military. Buyers can leave a review, complete with a one to five-star rating and media of their purchase, within 100 days after the latest estimated delivery date or, if unavailable, after the order's processing and shipping time have passed. Buyers can edit their review, including media, at any time during this 100-day period.

 

In the rare event of an unfavorable review, you can engage with the buyer or provide a response.

 

In addition to the guidelines for Creating and Uploading Content, reviews and your responses to reviews must not:

 

Contain explicit or mature content, imagery, or language, following our mature content policy.

Address matters beyond the seller's control, such as shipping carriers, Made By Military, or third parties.

Involve shilling or any form of artificially boosting a shop's review score.

Compromise the integrity of the Reviews system.

 

Cases

 

Cases may arise when there are disputes or issues between buyers and sellers on Made By Military. It's important to address these cases promptly and professionally. Buyers can open a case if they encounter problems with their orders. As a seller, you are expected to:

 

Respond to cases in a timely manner and work towards a resolution with the buyer.

Honor your shop policies and any agreements made with the buyer.

Cooperate with Made By Military in resolving cases when necessary.

Your success on Made By Military is built upon providing excellent customer service, delivering quality products, and maintaining a positive reputation. This includes:

 

  • Meeting customer expectations regarding shipping times and order accuracy.
  • Maintaining open and clear communication with buyers.
  • Adhering to Made By Military's policies and guidelines.
  • Addressing any issues or disputes professionally and promptly.
  • Striving for positive reviews and feedback from satisfied customers.
  • Continuous improvement of your shop and product offerings.

Your Vendor Account and Made By Military's Terms

 

To ensure the safety and enhancement of our Services, Made By Military may take actions that affect the visibility of your shop, listings, or ads, or impact your payment account. If we observe unusual order activity or believe that your actions or shop may lead to buyer disputes, chargebacks, an elevated risk of fraud, counterfeiting, or other claims, Made By Military may take measures such as:

 

  • Limiting the visibility of your account.
  • Imposing restrictions or reserves on your payments account.
  • Suspending your Made By Military account.

 

These actions align with our Terms of Use, including this Policy and our Made By Military Payments Policy. When appropriate and legally permissible, we will communicate relevant information to the affected seller regarding the issue.

 

In cases where a shop experiences an unusual surge in orders, particularly in high-demand categories, it may notice fluctuations in search ranking. Typically, an increase in fulfilled orders and positive reviews leads to higher visibility and search rank. However, rapid order increases can sometimes reduce visibility. Furthermore, we may limit the visibility of listings or ads to maintain the safety of Made By Military and enhance our Services. For instance, listings or ads with terms related to prohibited items or that conflict with third-party policies may experience decreased visibility. These listings or ads may also be prevented from appearing in specific features of the Services. Despite limited visibility, they remain discoverable through search.

 

Made By Military reserves the right to introduce changes to onboarding or authentication processes for sellers/ vendors at our sole discretion. Completion of these processes may be necessary for seller account activation or continued access and usage. 

 

If Made By Military has reasonable grounds to believe that you, Your Content, or your use of the Services violate our Terms, including this Seller Policy, we may take actions such as deactivating Your Content for some or all users, suspending or terminating your account (including any accounts determined to be related to yours), and revoking your access to the Services. We will generally notify you if Your Content or account has been suspended or terminated, unless you have repeatedly violated our Terms or legal or regulatory obligations prevent us from providing notice.
